Got Wheels / Read This
In general, all wheeled vehicles are prohibited at our events ... however, some exceptions exist for prams and wheelchairs. It is essential you read and understand our policy to wheeled vehicles before bringing one to an event.
Using a wheeled vehicle of any sort without prior written approval of the Race Director is an immediate and unappealable DQ.

PRAMS / BUGGYS / PUSHCHAIRS
LIMITED SPACES AVAILABLE AT SPECIFIED EVENTS
WHERE CAN THEY BE USED
We allow a very limited number of prams in the Fun Run & Walk race (4km or 5km) of each Auckland Half Marathon Series event (Devonport, Omaha, Coatesville, Maraetai and Waterfront Half Marathons).
Attention: Use of a pram or pushchair at all other events and all other race distances is specifically and indefinitely prohibiited.
If you would like to use a pram, buggy or pushchair in one of these events then get in touch via the Contact Form at least 14 days prior to the event (the earlier you ask, the better are the chances the allocation is not already exhausted). If approved, you will have 48 hours to register for the event before your approval expires.
Important! Prams of all types are not permitted in the North Shore Run Series due to the multi-lap format and limited space in some sections of each course.
PARTICIPATION RULES
1/ You do not need to purchase a ticket for your child provided they remain in the pram throughout the event and do not take a finisher medal.
2/ You must start towards the back of the field. Look out for the 6'00"/km pace sign and line up behind it.
3/ Average pace for your run must be 6'00" per km or greater. If you have a specially built running buggy and want to run fast ... please DO NOT register. For the safety of all participants ... we do not want fast runners pushing buggys at our events.
4/ Remain aware of other runners and walkers around you and give them plenty of space when passing or being passed. Do not run or walk alongside another pram or buggy.
WHEELCHAIRS
LIMITED SPACES AVAILABLE AT SPECIFIED EVENTS
WHERE CAN THEY BE USED
Standard wheelchairs may be accommodated at the same events and under the same conditions and circumstances as prams/buggys described above.
Important! Your accompanying support person - if you have one - does not need to hold a ticket for the event. However, they must wear a "GUIDE" race bib - which we will supply - and must not collect a finisher medal. They will not receive an official finish time.
RACING WHEELCHAIRS
Running Events are fully supportive of New Zealand's racing wheelchair athletes and we will support them whenever it is safe to do so and there is demand. In recent years, we have hosted racing wheelchairs at the Waterfront Half Marathon and Coatesville Half Marathon - both of which have courses well-suited for this purpose.
We are immensely proud to have had New Zealand racing wheelchair national records set at both the half marathon and 10k distances at the Waterfront Half Marathon.
If you are interested in participating in a racing wheelchair at one of our events, please use the Contact Form at least one month prior to race day to discuss this with our Race Director.
